Dugong Lodge

Situated along the Southern Mozambique Coast within 30 000 hectares of pristine marine and wildlife territory in the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary, Dugong Beach Lodge combines two biospheres which make for a unique wilderness and beach experience.The diverse eco-system of wilderness and wetland, with its power white beaches and crystal clear water host a magnificent array of fish, dolphin and flocks of flamingos and pelicans. Shallow and deepwater reefs reveal beautiful creatures such as the leatherback turtles, sailfish and manta ray, to name a few. Most importantly, it is the only site in the world where the near-extinct dugong (which resembles a sea lion) is found.

Dugong Lodge Accommodation

The Lodge offers 12 luxuriously appointed, air-conditioned chalets with direct access to the beach via individual walkways.(14 bedrooms, as two chalets consist of 2 bedrooms – not inter-leading). The 2 bedroom chalets have a plunge pool. All rooms have outdoor showers and twin beds can be converted to double beds.
